Flatten 6 Pack Abdominals

Many people come over to me and ask me about how they can obtain Flatten 6 Pack Abdominals. Usually I ask them what they are doing right now to get a 6 pack, and they very often tell me that they are doing crunches and sit ups every day for about a half hour.

My first response is, don’t you get bored?

Do Not Waste Your Time

Training your abs every day for a half hour doing hundreds of crunches is waste of your time and it is completely over kill.

If you train abdominals on some sort of regular basis try to put your fingers on them and feel them, are the hard and sticking out?

If you can answer yes to that, you already have them but the problem is that they are surrounded by body fat.

It is all about what your fat level is. If you train your abs and you do not have a 6 pack by now it is a question about bringing your fat level down.

Beer Belly and Love Handles

Women have a tendency to get their body around their hips buttocks and love handles.

For men it goes right on the beer belly and love handles sticking out and gives us this round beer belly that just gets bigger and bigger.

You want a six pack bring the fat level down that is so simple.

If you are a man and are training your abs on a regular basis and they are hard if you touch them, you can expect to have a fat level around 10 to 12% in order for you have a 6 pack, and if you can squeeze it all the way down to 7 to 8% they are really sticking out.

With women it is a little different, many women do not like 6 pack but prefer flat abs, in order to get that you need a fat level around 16 to 19%.

Remember there are always the individual differences that play an important role and some people can have a 6 pack with a fat level around 15% it also depends where the fat get stored exactly on your body.

So how do you get there?

It is all about your diet and your cardio vascular condition, the better shape you are in the more energy you burn and less fat you have on your body especially if you maintain a healthy diet.

Dropping Weight for Six Packs

If you for example are a man with a fat level around 20% and want a 6 pack, you need to cut away 8% of body fat.  Let us say your weight is 90 kg or 198lbs. That means you have cut down 7.2 kg or 16 lbs of body fat in order to get a 6 pack.

It sounds like a lot, but really it is not. In theory it takes your body 3500 calories to burn 1 pound of body and if you are going to the gym 4 or 5 times a week training abs, lifting weights combined with cardio and are keeping a healthy diet at the same time, you can easy drop 3 to 4 pounds of body fat.

But remember it is not always a good idea to drop weight to fast especially not if you are very over weighted because you are going to get a problem with excessive body skin.

The 3 or 4 pounds of weekly weight loss will probably decrease a little too around 1 or 2 pounds per week, but do not worry you are on the right track.

I wouldn’t pay too much attention to your entire body weight, but pay more attention to your fat level, many gyms have a fat level caliber that can measure the thickness of your skin. I am sure they will be more than happy to assist you. Avoid the calibers you hold with your hand stretching out your arms, they are not precise and it is more a measurement of the amount of fluids you have in your body.
