The Endomorps
The Endomorphs are typically the ones that have a lot of “natural” body fat stored around their mid section and their body tends to be very rounded and soft wit small hands and feet.
John Goodman or Roseanne is the perfect example of an Endomorph.
It can be done but it will take some time to obtain a 6 pack if you fall under this category. It will take you some hard work to get that 6 pack.
Your body fat around your abs, are stubborn so you have to do a special approach in order to get a 6 pack quickest.
You have to go to the gym 5 times a week and do a high intensity workout with weights and a high repetition scale up to between 20 to 30 reps for each set.

The Mesomorphs
Are more athletic build with nice rounded muscles and a nice v-shape, their body are harder than the Endomorps and hands and feet are way bigger. It is much easier for them to pack on some muscles and to gain a 6 pack is a little bit easier then the Endomorps but not as easy as the Ectomorps.
Mesomorphs can still struggle with body fat around the mid section but not as much as the other group.

If you are a Mesomorph you should keep your reps range between 10 and 15 for each set, do a high intensity workout where you mix in some cardiovascular exercises in your weight training. Usually working out between 4 or 5 times per week should do the job.
Expected time to get a 6 pack would be between 4 months and a year depending on your condition.
The Ectomorphs
Finally we have the Ectomorphs, skinny by nature and almost no fat at all around their abdominal region. It is quite difficult for Ectomorphs to pack on some serious muscle mass, but very easy to get and maintain a 6 pack. It comes very natural for Ectomorphs due to the fact that they have a very low fat level very often below 8%
Brad Pitt is the perfect example of a true Ectomorph, and that is one of the reasons why it is so easy for him to get lean for movies like Troy.
When you work out as a Ectomorph cardio is only to keep your heart strong, there is no need to using cardio to burn calories.
Your weight lifting should be a little heavier and you should keep a reps range between 6 and 10 in order to get the best results. It is probably enough for you just to do a few abs exercises a week in order get a 6 pack.
Expected time duration to get a 6 pack is between 2 weeks and 2 months.
Body Type Mix
Normally people are not 100% one body type but at mix between 2. Very often you can determine how much of each type you are, and then set your workout routine according to that.
